AWAI's $2,000 Photo Challenge

ANNOUNCING: AWAI’s $2,000 Photo Challenge

Dear Reader,

We just made it a lot easier for you to make your first $2,000!

As a reader of The Write Way to Travel, you’re invited to take part in the  AWAI $2,000 Photo Challenge.  This is a great opportunity to earn thousands of dollars and lots of cool prizes while showing off what you’ve learned about taking photos through our weekly newsletters, our workshops, and our Turn Your Pictures into Cash program.

Why are we offering so much money?   It’s very simple, really …

We’ve designed our programs to not only educate — and motivate — you, but also to offer opportunities for you to advance toward your goals. And this is just another way we’re fulfilling that mission.

Not only do we hope the monthly contests will encourage you to take more pictures and practice your craft, but we hope you’ll learn more along the way too…

You see, each month the first-place winner will receive a prize. Then, in addition, the first-, second-, and third-place photos will receive a critique. These critiques will be made public, so everyone can see — and benefit from — them.

The idea is that you’ll learn something important and useful each month — a tip you can apply before the next month’s contest.

Take Pictures… Win Cool Prizes… and Next October You Could Win $2,000

Here’s how it works:

Each month, we’ll announce a contest theme (look tomorrow for our first month’s theme).  With that theme, we’ll provide rules and guidelines for submitting photographs as well as suggestions from our lead photographers for getting the best pictures.

Submissions are due by 8:00 a.m. on the first Monday of every month, and the winner will be chosen by the previous month’s winner.

Then, every October, before the holiday shopping season begins, we’ll combine all the monthly winners (first-, second- and third-place) and enter them in one big Grand Prize Contest to be judged by all our Turn Your Pictures into Cash Program Members.

The winner will receive a check from us for $2,000, bragging rights for “the year’s best photo,” and a chance to have his or her photograph displayed on the cover of one of our upcoming photography programs.

(Note: there is no purchase necessary to enter the contest.  You do not have to purchase our photography program to enter or win although we do recommend that you subscribe to our e-letter for weekly contest tips and updates: www.thephotographerslife.com.)

You’ll Have Multiple Chances to Win!

Each winner will receive a $30 Gift Certificate to the AWAI e-Bookstore where you’ll find our new e-book, How to Get a First Class Seat—For Less—On Most Every Flight You Take as well as our new How to Bag the Best Freebies: 5 Real-World Tips for Scoring VIP Travel Perks and a host of other downloadable guides published by the American Writers & Artists Inc.

The Contest Rules

1.  Who May Enter the Contest?  You must be an amateur photographer to enter these contests.  “Amateur photographer” is defined for our purposes as a photographer who does not earn a full-time living from photography.  You must be 18 years of age (or the minimum age required by law at the time of entering) to participate.  Employees and contractors of AWAI and its affiliated companies are not eligible.

2. The photographer may submit one photo per monthly contest.  Last month’s contest winner may not enter the following month.

3.  Copyright:  You must hold the copyright to any photo you submit. (If you took the photo, you automatically own the copyright.)  If a photographer violates copyright law, his or her photo will be disqualified.  Note: The copyright remains the property of the photographer.  Photo credit with a copyright symbol will appear under the image of winning photographs published on the AWAI website.

4.  Content:  We reserve the right to reject unsuitable images, which may be seen as pornographic, vulgar, hateful, threatening, or otherwise in violation of laws.

5. AWAI reserves the right to substitute prizes of equal value should the advertised prize become unavailable due to circumstances beyond our control.

6. AWAI is not responsible for lost, late, misdirected, or incomplete files.

7. If, for any reason, the contest(s) is unable to run as planned — due to infection by computer virus, tampering, technical failures, or other causes beyond our control — AWAI reserves the right to cancel, modify, or suspend the contest.

8. All entries for each contest must be received no later than 8:00 a.m. EST the first Monday of every month.  To register, simply click on the “Register Here” button on our homepage, accept the terms, and upload your photo submission on the “Enter to Win” page.  Our website will automatically resize your photo for optimal web viewing.

3 Ways You Can Win With the AWAI “$2,000 Photo Challenge”…

AWAI’s “$2,000 Photo Challenge” gives you three advantages you just won’t find anywhere else —

1) The monthly challenge serves to help you build a well-rounded portfolio (and maybe even earn some cash with it) before you even finish the Turn Your Pictures Into Cash Program.

2) The monthly winners’ critiques provide a chance for you to learn as you go. Consider this a free mentoring opportunity. The photographers with the top three photos each month will get feedback about their pictures — what’s strong as well as what could be better. Study the winning photographs carefully.  Learn from the photo analysis each monthly. Then throw your camera over your shoulder and go out and practice. Imitate what it is those winning photographers are doing right.

3) And don’t forget the big bonus… the potential to land a check for $2,000!

All you have to do to set the ball in motion is watch for next month’s contest in our online newsletter.

Good luck!
