Helpful, Funny, Even Disastrous: Share Your Travel Story at BootsnAll
By Roberta Beach Jacobson in Karpathos, Greece

Chris Heidric and Sean Keener started BootsnAll.com back in 1999 as a way for travelers to connect and share their travel tales.

Needless to say, their idea has resonated with travelers worldwide — and today they have 1.5 million site visitors a month. Most of the growth in visitors is due to word-of-mouth.  If you have a story that might be beneficial to fellow travelers — whether you’re offering up helpful hints, funny anecdotes, or even travel disasters — this could be your market.

Your article should not be more than 2,000 words. No matter what type of travel writing appeals to you, letting your own personal style show through your writing will win you points at BootsnAll.

Chris Heidric, one of the co-founders, serves as the content editor and he’ll be the one reviewing your submissions. He welcomes your photos too.

To get to know this friendly community, give yourself plenty of time. Besides hundreds of fascinating first-person articles on this website, there are blogs and message boards too. Don’t forget to acquaint yourself with the Writer’s Guidelines

If you wish to submit an article to this site, your first step will be to join the community — it only takes a few seconds. After that, you can submit articles directly to: http://www.bootsnall.com/user/form.php You will have to add some “tags” (labels used in internet searches) when you post your story to the online web form.

BoosnAll is not a paying market. You, the writer, retain copyright. However, BootsnAll asks if they can syndicate your work and agrees to share any revenues resulting from that with you. You have a choice to opt out of syndication if you wish. You can read all about “rights” here: http://writers.bootsnall.com/rights-copyright/

I’ve only submitted one article here so far, about windsurfing on the island where I make my home. I plan to send more. You can read my article at: http://www.bootsnall.com/articles/01-09/no-place-for-beginners-karpathos-greece.html
