FEATURED PUBLICATION: WAVEJourney.com
Where to Publish Women’s Adventures, Vacations, and Experiences
By Jackie Flynn, in Brussels, Belgium
Vivienne Chapelo and Jill Hoelting are the founders of WAVEJourney.com. The website is a one-stop online resource for travelers interested in finding businesses or services that cater to women.
WAVEJourney.com –Women’s Adventures, Vacations & Experiences: Your Journey Starts Here! — is looking for articles to feature on its website and in its monthly newsletter.
More specifically, they’d like first-hand travel experiences, travel recommendations, travel tips, and hotel reviews. In addition, they also print articles on, food, wine, health, golf courses, history, and culture. The thing to remember here is that the focus of the article has to be of interest or benefit to women.
To get a sense of what they are after, browse through some of the stories you’ll find at the Travellers’ Tales link: (http://wavejourney.com/?x=0&y=0&s=travel+tales) and the Travel Tips link: (http://wavejourney.com/category/travel-tips/).
Articles can run from 250-1800 words. You do not need to query. If you wish to submit an article, copy it into the body of an email (do not send the article as an attachment) and send it to: newsletter@wavejourney.com.
Make sure you put the following title in the subject line of your email: “Article for Publication in WJ.” The editors prefer it if you format your email-article text in 12 point New Roman or Verdana.
At this time, WAVEJourney doesn’t pay for articles. However, writers retain all rights to their work. And submissions from new writers are welcome — the editors will work with you to get your article ready for publication.
You are encouraged to submit 6-12 photos with your article. The photos should not be compressed. And they should be submitted not with your article, but in a separate email.
WAVEJourney.com is an ideal publication for new writers looking for exposure and a few clips. If you get published in WJ (WAVE Journey), you’ll be in good company with well-established names like our own Steenie Harvey, Ann Lombardi, Nancy Pitman and others.
