Holiday Tip #7: Dress Up Your Luggage
We’ve all been there… at the luggage carousel, watching black suitcase after black suitcase lazily glide by, slowly being claimed one by one, until there’s almost nothing left… just a few stragglers going around and around. But your bag? No where in sight.
Today’s holiday travel tip is about finding your luggage when it doesn’t make it on or off your flight…
When you get ready to head off to the airport, the best thing you can do to prepare yourself is attach a colorful luggage tag or tie something bright to the handles of your bag. This will not only help you spot it in the crowd of other like bags, but if it gets lost, it will be easier to describe to the folks in lost baggage — so they can find it.
I wrote about this for Travel Post Monthly a couple months ago in an article titled: Lost Luggage at the Airport: How to Beat the System

P.S. While you’re waiting for the luggage carousel to start moving, you might want to take out your camera. Luggage and airports are hot-selling items on istockphoto.com.
One caution, however: Make sure you won’t be violating any security measures by having your camera out in the baggage claim. If there’s a sign that says don’t take pictures or if someone asks you to stop — you should stop.
