Stock Photo Sales Update
I got a friendly nudge last month from BSC-er Joy Ciaccio, who posted on the Breakfast StockClub Facebook page:
“Bonnie, I have often wondered when you were going to start submitting again… I’ve been monitoring portfolios and you need to get some new ones online!!”
She’s so right! Sometimes you need a push from a friend to get where you want to go.
The great news is that even though I haven’t uploaded much in the past four months, my stock photo sales are still trickling in. Not much, mind you. If you don’t keep uploading, it’s hard to grow your royalties. But I went from $80 to $320.61 without doing anything so that’s pretty nice.
I’m taking plenty of photos. I’m just not allowing myself time to sit in a chair and get them online. It seems I’m spending so much time interviewing pros and publishing Challenges and Roadmaps for BSC Premium Members that I haven’t carved out the time to get my own photos up online.
If this is you, too, let’s make a pact to upload at least three images this weekend. Let’s set a timer and carve out just one hour out of our day tomorrow to get it done.
I always find that setting a timer helps me get started. When the timer goes off, I’m usually so into it and excited about what I’m doing that I just keep going.
It’s getting started that’s the hardest part.
Set a timer this weekend and let’s make a pact to upload three new images. Hopefully three will turn into twenty three and we’ll get back on track.
And if you’re not in any stock photo agencies, yet, set your timer to sign up for one or two this weekend. You’ll find some good agencies to start with here.

Four BSC-ers got up and running in stock by submitting photos to the agency I outlined last week, mostphotos.com…
From Kim Thompson: Hi Bonnie. I took the suggestion in your most recent newsletter and uploaded pictures to “mostphotos”. It did take me longer than eight minutes, but what a fun experience. I can’t wait for results!
From Sue Gresham: I uploaded there too – what a nice user friendly site – very simple to find your way around. I did not find anyone who had sold more than one download though?
From Phill Danze: Yeah I have too – only several though – will wait and see how they go before investing more time in it.
And Joy Ciaccio spotted a stock photo from one of our instructors — stock photographer Andrea Gingerich — in a magazine.
From Joy:Did anyone notice the latest Pentax camera advertisements in the photo magazines? The picture used on the display is Andrea Gingerich’s, one of our critiquers in BSC Premium. Actually, a revision: it was used in an article on the Pentax K-r camera in Outdoor Photographer. It’s my favorite flower macro… gorgeous, gorgeous picture.
Andrea will be our guest reviewer next week — you know what that means, BSC Premium members — get your Challenge photos in today!
