Seven Travel Photos You Can Sell as Stock
Travel is a big theme in the stock photo world.
For me, most of my best-selling images either include a travel element, or I took them while traveling.
Bonnie Caton, here. Whether you have a trip planned or not, you can take travel-themed photos and sell them as stock… even right in your hometown. The important thing when you’re getting started is to make sure you’re taking photos that are saleable.
If you’re not sure where to begin, here’s a list of saleable travel themes to get you going in the right direction, below…
Seven Travel Photos You Can Sell as Stock:
1. City Skylines
2. Local attractions, events, festivals, and musicians
3. Food specialties from the region
4. Local crafts and markets
5. People enjoying travel and seeing the sights
6. Iconic buildings or landmarks
7. Detail shots
If it’s still summery where you live, the best thing to do is to get out and shoot, before autumn and winter weather — and shorter daylight hours — make it harder to shoot outside in natural light.
Then, select only your very best shots and try uploading them to a stock photo agency.
If you get rejected, get help. There’s nothing more frustrating than going it alone.
