The 21-Day Photo Challenge: New Year, Old You
It’s said that 46% of all New Year’s resolutions made at the start of January will be broken by the end of the month.
Maybe that’s because people try to change too much too fast. They set goals to lose weight, get organized, save money… but those things involve big changes to daily routines. And daily routines are hard to break just because we changed the calendar on the wall.
So this year, I’d like to encourage you to stay just as you are. And instead, change the way you make changes.
Studies show that it takes 21 days to make or break a habit. So starting today, get out your camera or your camera phone and set a reminder to take a picture. Challenge yourself to take a picture of yourself or something around you every day for 21 days.
New Year, Old You: The 21-Day Photo Challenge
The goal is NOT to get a good picture, sell the picture, or get comfortable with your camera.
The goal is simply to start a new habit. The rest will follow.
Twenty-one days from now, you’ll find that picking up your camera to take a photograph seems much less foreign — the first real step toward getting paid for your photos. After all, you can’t get paid for photos you never take.
And to help, I’m going to do it with you.
If you’re friends with me on Facebook, you’ll see my photos there along with several others from the girls here in the office. (You can find me on Facebook, here.)
I think it’s going to be fun. And fun habits are easier to keep, so let’s do it together.
Happy shooting!!
